What about the Fiat 124 Spider?
It beats all 3 of the British cars with  5-speed, 4-wheel discs, dual overhead cams, one-hand top & I fit in it at 6'6".
Your ongoing bias against this car is why I stopped subscribing some years ago.

This is not an exhaustive list, so other suggestions are certainly more than welcome.

As far as the Fiat 124 Spider, you might want to check out our latest issue. In fact, here's the story: This one-of-one Fiat 124 Spider was made to be driven | Articles | Classic Motorsports

Maybe at the time of the story there wasn't a Fiat 124 available to CM.  CM and GRM are car people.  They like anything with wheels.
