Wow! Almost 3" of snow Sunday night. So of course all our schools closed, and the traffic yesterday was said to be horrific. I stayed in because I had nowhere, like a job I needed to be.
Went out around noon today and traffic is almost back to normal. They're saying we'll get 65* in a day or so, so I guess it won't be too bad after all.
BTW: Sorry about the typo on the topic heading! I just noticed it & don't know how to correct it.
In reply to Rupert:
You can't correct it. You will forever be known as that "witner" guy. Good luck with that
God Bless our friends in upstate NY!
They're getting/gonna get inundated (just realized I never typed that word).

Beats the Hell out of some of the other things I've been known as in my life!
We had 8 inches and a good amount of ice here and it was business as usual. The other side of the state 2 or 3 flakes fell and most of Portland shut down.
I did get to watch people bouncing their cars off curbs, other cars, sliding through intersections and the like.
We got about a foot and a half in 36 hours, school and my office shut down for two days = 4 day weekend!
Upstate NY is even making the news here in eastern Ontario. We have maybe 6" on the ground and temperatures just below freezing, but nothing compared to what Buffalo and area are dealing with.
Temperature was 20 degrees out this morning.
No snow in sight, thankfully. For those wondering why Atlanta totally locks down at the first sign of snow, last year everyone saw what sort of a disaster happens when we don't.
Just a thin coating here in the Detroit area. Still to much. I need to learn how to hibernate.

In reply to ebonyandivory: OK come clean. Did you ace inundated or correct it with spell check?
BTW: it's 47* here right now and the snow is about gone. I assume they'll have school here tomorrow.
In reply to Rupert:
I typed it, waited for the word to turn pink and have three other words suggested to me. But honest to God, I nailed it first time!
Mrs. Ebert would be proud!
I'm very sad because there is snow and I haven't fixed the handbrake in the Escort yet
"IT'S TOO SOON FOR WITNER!!"
Oh MAN it really is ! And it's too soon for me to feel this old as well. Fresh into my 60's and it's all going down hill . . . time to head out to flag down some teens and trick them into shoveling my drive for money.
You mean this guy? Contrary to the title, he's alive and doing fine.

Buffalo has been measuring snow in feet, not inches.
I heard 5-6 ft.
The Tug Hill got hit pretty good too.

My family is from Rochester. I'm quite certain all of them are referring to it as "pretty typical snow flurries."

Oh Thanks Be To God! He is alive and doing well! We gyrenes tend to stick together and worry about each other. My I.D. tags look very similar. We never considered them "dog tags" since we were never doggies. The blanked out space shown isn't where a Social Security Number would be listed, as is probably the case today. We Marines actually had I.D. numbers not at all related to a SSN.
I saw some pictures from the interstate around Buffalo. What we call that around here is a berkeleying mess.
I thought our measly 2ft was bad, then watched the nightly news (tonight!) then Brian Williams set me straight.
YEAH! berkeley YOU, WITNER!!!
