For over 70 years, if you needed a book about cars, Autobooks-Aerobooks has been the place to go.

Today, however, its owner has announced plans to retire and sell the longstanding bookstore.

From the owner:

Autobooks-Aerobooks, the well-known car bookstore in Burbank, CA since 1951 is for sale.  For over 70 years Autobooks has been the place for gearheads of all stripes to gather for bench racing and conversation and to find the largest selection of automotive books in the US.  The owners are looking to retire and pass the baton to someone who can carry on the traditions of the store.

I have visited A&A every time I am in So Cal, I prefer the original location over the current place but that is just my opinion. They have a great magazine selection event though there are less titles than in the old days. Hopefully someone will purchase the business and help keep the hobby alive.
