Car Catcher: A 1964 Sunbeam Tiger That Needs a Little Work

Not much history is known about this particular 1964 Sunbeam Tiger—it was in long-term storage as part of a large collection—but it could offer a great starting point for a total restoration. Tigers come equipped with a 260-cubic-inch V8 courtesy of Ford—a formula the Rootes Group were keen on after seeing the success of the Shelby Cobra. Hagerty values a No. 4 Tiger at around $35,000, with a No. 2 fetching close to $79,000. The Sunbeam Tiger will be on offer without reserve at Mecum's Chicago show October 24-26.
