While this may have been the first time that the fairways of the Monterey Pines Golf Course hosted the Porsche Club of America’s Werks Reunion, you would never have known it. From the parking lot to the food vendor and exhibitor areas to the layout of the show field and corrals, it seemed as if this event, the ninth in the series, has been here for years. More than 100 PCA volunteers made the parking of the 150 judged cars, the 600-plus Porsches in the corral, and even more spectators seem effortless.
These events are really about the people and, even though we were there while owners were getting ready for judging, they never hesitated to stop and tell us about their cars.
On our way out, we were able to walk through the corral which was incredibly well organized and full of about every street Porsche imaginable. Our 5-minute walk back to our car took almost an hour as we stopped to chat with owners of every Porsche on our rather long wish list.
