Love cool cars and the people who travel with them? Join the Coker Tire and Classic Motorsports staff on the Coker Tire Tour on April 24. It’s a one-day vintage car convoy to the Classic Motorsports Mitty, one of the biggest racing festivals in the U.S. This event is for anyone with a classic car, sports car, muscle car or hot rod. Sorry, no rental cars or newer model family cruisers allowed.
The festivities will begin Thursday evening, April 23, at Coker Tire headquarters in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with a cookout and tours of the museum. The tour will start the following morning at Coker Tire headquarters with a cars and coffee event and tour of their museum. After a day of exploring mountain roads it will end at Road Atlanta, just in time for the Speedfest at the Classic Motorsports Mitty.
What makes this trip really special is the route we will be taking. We’ll begin in Chattanooga and head out of town to Highway 64, which is a beautiful drive along the Ocoee River. We will then head south to the city of Blue Ridge, Georgia, and have lunch at Mercier Orchards. It is a fully operational 300-acre apple orchard with wagon tours available. Tour members will want to take advantage and shop their store for anything apple-related like apples, apple butter, apple cider and sweet fried apple pies. After lunch we will take one of the most beautiful and challenging roads through the Chattahoochee National Forest. From there we go through historic Dahlonega, Georgia, and then on to Road Atlanta
Once we reach Road Atlanta, we will have a car corral set up for all tour participants, a fresh BBQ dinner and a parade lap around Road Atlanta.
The cost is just $75. For that lowly sum, participants will enjoy back road mountain driving, lunch at Mercier Orchards, a reserved spot in Coker Tire’s car corral at the Mitty, BBQ dinner, a Friday ticket to the Classic Motorsports Mitty, and even a parade lap around the Road Atlanta road course.
