Held last year in October, the Velocity Invitational returns to a summer date for 2025, June 6-8, at Sonoma Raceway.
“This new date puts us in the heart of summer, but ahead of many other events, so we’re excited to welcome new cars, classes and sponsors who weren’t able to join us in the fall,” said Ryan Turri, Velocity Invitational General Manager. “Our inaugural event was in June and our intent has always been to return to that time of the year. Plus, summer is the peak season for events and festivals for families and visitors in Sonoma, so this June date makes it easy for motorsports fans from around the country to add Velocity Invitational to their summer vacation plans.”
This year’s event welcomes 11 race groups that run the gamut of the sport, from 1927-1941 Pre-War Racing and Sports Touring Cars to 2005-present super and hypercars.
The Velocity Invitational Hill Climb returns for 2025, won last year by Scott Speed in Subaru’s WRX: Project Midnight.

The Velocity Invitational typically attracts many big-name drivers. Last year, the likes of Mario Andretti, Zak Brown, Tony Kanaan, Lando Norris and Romain Grosjean were in the paddock.
“Guest experience is paramount for us,” Turri said, “and giving guests unprecedented access to motorsports, including direct access to Formula 1 stars and multi-million dollar supercars in the paddock, is at the center of everything we do.”
