It was a record-setting price for any Triumph, but it's also an incredible value for this particular car.
After years of rebuilding, racing, and restoring this championship-winning Group 44 race car, we stuck our Triumph GT6+ onto a Reliable Carriers truck and headed to Monterey.
Our Group 44 Triumph GT6+ sold well at the RM Auctions Monterey. We had multiple bidders, so it’s fair to say the selling price of $55,000 was a good representation of the market. It’s also a record high price for this model.
Call it a blue-chip collectible. We don’t expect a lot of hype in the automotive world for triumphant vintage Triumphs, but the quality of our restoration along with the car’s legitimate racing pedigree should make its value continue to appreciate steadily in the new owner’s hands.
