I have a 1990 Red B package (LSD,PS, PW, Cruise) for sale as a project car. $1050 this weekend only.
The Bad:
Engine needs to be swapped as it blew a rod and is locked. Will require a tow.
Top is trashed and will need replacement.
Clutch at end of life (but you'll replace it when you put the new engine in anyway, right).
Driver seat has fuzz on outside bolster (but no holes).
Battery bad.
Cracked radio surround.
Needs front brake rotors and pads.
The Good:
Very original, complete and everything works. Needs nothing other than the above mentioned.
Dash not cracked.
only 149k miles.
New tires on stock alloys.
Body is mostly strait and major dent free. Has minor dent in drivers fender that may require a replacement depending on how picky you are. Has fixable dent/scrape on hood size of quarter.
Paint is good. Mostly shinny and not oxydized (it was repainted at some time in its past.
This is a $2200/fall, $2800/spring car if the engine was working.
Great winter project.
Will post pics on Sat 9/5.
Available for viewing on Sunday 9/6.
Will post on craigslist for $1500 OBO on Monday 9/7.
Email solomiata at aol dot com for Sunday viewing times. I will post more pics tomorrow.
Easy fix for someone or great basis for 2009 challenge.

I've had a lot of inquires about the drivers fender damage. It really wasn't that bad but to sweeten the deal I have installed a fresh undamaged fender in it's place. (the original bent one on the ground).
As you can see the body is very strait adn the paint is not oxydized. Drop an engine in (or install a new rod/piston combo for a poor-man rebuild) adn you have a very nice early Miata.
Also attached is the pic of the crack radio surround.

I got busy the last two weeks with family stuff and didn't get a chance to post on CL. But I will this week!!!!
Let me define "trashed" for the top. There is one 1" long rip on the passenger side. Currently covered with a 3" strip of black duct tape. The rear window has a crack about 4" long along the very botton of the window. Currently covered with a decal. The top does not leak. The window is clear, not hazy, and the decal does not obstruct the view. The zipper is fine.
It is not a perfect top but is functional and does not need to be replaced immediately.
Last chance. $1050 and you tow away.
I see many forum threads where people say they wish they could find a $1000 Miata in good condition. Well, here it is.
Well, bummer. I live in GA, but I'm in IA for a friends wedding. I've been scouting for a Miata just like that for a friend in IA, so I could haul it up here for him. Well, I'll check with him anyway, if he's interested, I'll probably drive back and get it.

One last update....
This evening I reached into the parts bin and put a set of good turned rotors on the front (.61") and a set of good used pads. The brakes are now road worthy and you will not be required to change rotors/pads anytime soon for street duty.
All this car needs is a short block (or a rebuild).
Bummer, not yet. He needs to get rid of his other toy first. If I had a garage down south, I would probably go for it myself.
