I picked this up saturday with the ambitions of doing some small things and making it a summer cruiser that can hold kids and stuff. However, after the dust has settled I realize this thing is going to take time away from my current fleet, that all need work, and i'll never get anything done if i have something cool to drive around in. Therefore i've made the decision to let it go.
Truck is 2wd, pretty close to all original(one repaint), 345 v8, auto. it runs and drives in current state, but has 3 year old gas and tires appear to be about 20 years old or so. has rust around rear wheel arches and behind them, below woodgrain at very back of front fenders, and some around edges of rear floor. it's extremely solid otherwise, especially for an international. tons of options including roof rack, power tailgate window, air conditioning, and locking rear differential. tested the rear locker, it's functional it laid tracks in the driveway. trans works well. i would say it should get the carb cleaned and a tuneup, but it may all be chalked up to the old gas. it definitely needs a new Y pipe for the exhaust, which looks to be in the $50 range from the international parts sources. rest of exhaust looks decent.
i bought from 2nd owner who had it since 1992, he bought it in NC and never let it see winter up here. for most other vehicles, that means no rust but for an international, thats why it needs some patches. i have the original window sticker. it starts up and drives/stops, but i do not think it should be driven home on the old tires.
i really don't want to let this one go but it's the right thing to do to force me to get my other junk fixed. this is the easy button i don't need.
i'm asking $2016 obo from a GRM'er. i think it's worth more based on the comps i've seen. you want it, make me a fair offer.
located 44280.
This is a good price for a cool piece of IH machinery
Amazingly low price per cubic foot of interior!
Also low on the price per pound and price per pound of towing capability.
Does this one have the third row seating making it a 9 seat vehicle?
The only want stronger is the one to stay married.

That seems like a good deal on a cool old truck. In this case, I'm glad you are not closer.
That is one good looking IH. If I was closer I would be seriously tempted.
Does it have AC?
We had one of these when I worked for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. I felt it had no redeeming features whatsoever, other than it was BIG. Steering was way over-boosted, was the typical Gov't stripper version, slow and 8mpg.
Approximately how tall, wide, and long is the cargo area on one of these?
In reply to spitfirebill:
That makes me want it even more except you also perfectly described my ex military K30.
Dear Pat,
Why God?! WWWWHHHHHHYYYYYYY????!!!!!!

suburbanesque. i can measure and pix for you this weekend. it'll fit 4x8 sheets with rear seat folded.
this one has 2 row seating, front buckets with flip down center armrest that i believe flips up to seat a 6th. air conditioning is there, but when the switch is flipped nothing happens currently. i gather blower motor or resistor is bad.

Pat do you have your two car trailer yet?
An Impala would only put me back to even. I could be interested in adding another car to the fleet.

going to drop this here.
$1500 cash before i do the exhaust and tune-up.
radio works, heat works when fan is on 1(i think that means the blower motor resistor is bad). ac is cool but not cold, so it needs a little charge. i have r12.

I really want to roll this, what size tire does it require. You see I sold a few things and have this big hole in my garage.
Shipped to 49525?

Could you blow up my email, as well? I really don't want to want this, but I'm having a difficult time finding a Travellette that I like, and you keep lowering the price. (curse you)

Oh, and am I correct in assuming this is the light duty IFS version with the 5 lug pattern?
