SOLD
Bought this car here a few months ago, with plans of building my first Challenge car. After doing some maths, I reached the conclusion that, for me, the Challenge offers a pretty E36 M3ty bang/buck ratio...
So this car needs to go, to make room at the shop for something else.
Has some rust, but nothing structural, from what I can tell... Nice project for a sport-bike engine, or whatever else you may have lying around.
I paid $500 for the car, and a tote full of miscellaneous parts. I'd like to break-even on this, but open to offers.
Car is located in NW Ohio, and I will post more pix later tonight.
PM me if interested, or email at wgraf42@gmail.com.

Originally, it was going to be free for the 42nd person to respond, but I decided to just put a price in the ad instead...
Some more details regarding what we would be buying for $500 wouldn't hurt

Look up the original for sale ad. It had pictures and some more info from the PO.
I'd do it, but I'm too sleepy this morning...

Car currently does not run. The engine was partially disassembled when I got it. Some engine parts are in a tote, but no idea if it's all there.
This car would be a good starting-point for an engine-swap of your choice. I was going to drop a fwd 2-liter twin-cam Lancia in the ass, but that isn't going to happen.
Trunk floor is missing...

I apologize for the crappy cellphone pix, but these are all I have on my phone at the moment.
Car is solid, but rough, much better suited for the Challenge than restoration. I bought it, a few months ago, pushed it into the shop, and haven't touched it since.
Will, is the trunk floor rusted away, or a separate piece that's missing?
In reply to DeadSkunk:I'm pretty sure it's a separate piece that is simply missing. I'm not terribly familiar with these cars. Just the little poking around I did on it makes me think it didn't just rust away, since the rest of the car is pretty solid.
Once Christmas is over, I'll be able to get to the shop and look into it further. I will also get some better pix.

I was getting breakfast this morning and was reading this thread while I was waiting for my food. A couple minutes later a yellow X1/9 drove by and it looked awesome.
Pretty sure it wasn't mine...

Would it be ok to tow home with a dolly?

Yes I do happen to have one sitting in my garage, that would be the plan.
And I just was browsing on rally anarchy and a picture of a rally x1/9 popped up. Ahhhhhhhhh.
I was looking at an old thread about a 13B in an X1-9 this morning. It used a Fiero transmission and an adapter plate. Seemed to fit nicely.

IIRC - and it's been about 20 years since I owned one of them - the trunk floor is indeed bolted in.

IIRC it's a screw in panel.

Would probably be OK, but the tires are pretty dry-rotted, so I personally wouldn't recommend it.
Got a text a bit ago from my buddy with the Lancia donor, and he's interested in the car. If he falls through, I'll let you know.
