If it is in the budget and doesn't interfere with the taco bell run, why wouldn't it be allowed?

Are you really going to just leave us hanging....
We want some pics
In reply to Indy-Guy :
wait until its in my garage and out of the college kids parents driveway... but It's a $1k.. SVT focus.. Kinda runs but pukes coolant everywhere 93K miles on it total.
In reply to Fueled by Caffeine :
Score!
Do we have an official ruling on the tire tread wear yet for the class? 300? 250? The tires on it now are severely dry rotted.
In reply to Indy-Guy :
Salvage title. Puking coolant but really rust free for a mn car. Couldn’t drive it due to coolant puke.
In reply to Indy-Guy :
The gastropods ard going 250 just to see how things develop this year and what tires people drag out of the woodwork. However, there appears to be an official 300tw award from GRM for the car that does best on 300tw+ tires, so maybe keep that in mind when shopping.
gastropod contender?

1.8T, manual transmission, unloved car model by folks who want a manual transmission, unloved transmission for folks who want this car model.
add alternator and tires, crank boost?
Edit: 2750 lbs and 180 HP stock, apparently. Not to shabby.
DeadSkunk said:Is anyone keeping a tally of how many Gastropod cars are being planned at this point ?
If it's anything like the regular challenge, I would suspect 118 are being planned. That being said I suspect four will show up
If this isn't boosted, it'll be a gastropod.
Wheels are now white, louvers are en route and tint is getting redone. I'm hunting down a MSP differential as I have sephia axles.
Well.. SVT got sold out from under me at the last minute.. I knew better than to talk out of turn.. Good luck to the "mystery dude who has a trailer and can show with $600 more than me"....
In reply to captdownshift :
Do you have a system picked out for it yet? For the Taco Bell run of course...
I was banging around C/L because a buddy of mine is looking for a 'acre truck'...
and came across an over-budget S197 ($3k v6/5spd):

also noticed that a interesting option might be Lincoln LS? although, I think these are all 6's too?

dunno if they're of interest... but thought it might be worth the inspiration to someone?
In reply to paranoid_android :
funny that you should ask...
And a proper 90s Kenwood CD single din headunit as well. Fitting the 6x8s in the rear is properly GRM as well as the original 5x7 brackets don't fit the upgrade, so I'm cutting the feet off the bracket on 2 sides dremeling down the seal lip, replacing the lip with sound seal "tape" and epoxying the feet down in their new proper fitment home.
Well, because life happens, my potential gastropod entry may be up for sale soon :(
I'll drop a link here when the time comes.
I have been trying to ignore this thread as it really is the easy button for challenge participation.
Then I find this

If its mech sound and you don't paint I could see neat graphic using internet sourced wraps for a low budget concours finish...then put some monry in a decent paint job post challenge!
In reply to Ovid_and_Flem :
Or just prime it and bring a bunch of rattle cans in various colors to the hotel and have participations tag it up and go as a Berlin Wall theme. (Yes the wall fell 15 years before the car was built, but seeing it in the sanded, semi paint prepped state made me think of it).
