I want this so bad. Someone buy it so I wont.

Someone needs to just start listing all the reasons why I shouldn't buy that car, so I won't go buy it tomorrow.
Brilliantly reliable engine
Fun to drive for an old saloon
Sounds in good condition and well cared for
Is called Gustav
!!!!manual g'box!!!
Good colour and the 'right' wheels
"...all the reasons why I shouldn't buy that car"
Wait, no, that's all wrong
I can only say that I had an 88 535is with a 5 speed and it was a brilliant highway commuter car. Comfortable and poised at 60, 90 or 130. It also took a broadside hit directly between the driver's door and front fender from a Santa Fe doing 35. I got out the passenger side and walked away.
If that was within 500 miles of me and even close to as good as it looks in the pic I would snatch it up in a heartbeat.
RIP:
What do you guys think I could sell my 318i for? 85 318i, lots of surface rust but nothing straight through. Front end completely rebuild including brakes, interior is immaculate except for the cracked dash. Everything works but the odometer, occasionally speedometer and rear pass side window regulator
I DD my challenge 535i for 6 months before it moved on. 86 w/5spd. ltd slip. Just a nice driving car. I'd have another one too.

Why are you still here?

Because according to the seller it's under 12" of fresh snow right now.
I'm going to see it tomorrow.
fffffffffffffffffffffffff
Anyone want an 85 318i?

I reaally, reaaaaly want an E28 as a DD...but I have a seriously long commute. Long enough that I really notice the difference between 25 mpg and 30. What kind of mileage did you get out of yours?
JAKE NO
JAKE NOOOOOOOOOO
I've been fantasizing about a 5.3 vortec in this 535i.
you posting in this thread did not help
haha a 5.3 would be excellent in that!! I love to enable
They are getting cheaper by the day. I picked up a complete 60k mile 4.8 vortec with the 4L60e this past Tuesday for $650!!
It is going in this...which I paid $700 for last saturday. It will be the wife's new DD
hahaha, she was jealous that I am going to have a "cool fast car" (the e28) so now she will get one.
E36 M3, that could be 85% of the fun of the 1988 M5 that lives not too far from me for 1/10th the price.
You're upgraded suspension, some aftermarket seats and a power boost away from being better than the M5 at, say 1/5th the price.
shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I had managed to make myself forget about Gustav
but I just managed to set up a phone date with the owner because of you....
The dilemma is this:
the e30 is finally to the point where it drives well enough to be a reliable daily. I'm scared to think of what the 5 would need to approach the same level.
