i just picked this up today i really only wanted the corvair had to take both. its for sell BO not rust on pan at all big bore kit dual webers, car has not run in 11 years. paint is really good does need brake work. engine is free did not try to start car is in pittsburgh pa you can contact me at mark@ctsinc.org
The II's look so much better than the original GT's. the right set of wheel would make that car look hot.
i have listed other cars for sell on this forum and even sold one to a member on this forum but i have never got this many emails on one of them. so i am going to try to answer most of the questions now.
a little history on car, car was built in 1977 by fiberfab in Pittsburgh Pa for a older man it was built on a 1972 VW type 1 pan it has IRS rear suspension and a ball joint front suspension. the car was the man's pride and joy only drove it in parades and car shows. he passed way in 1988 and there was a battle over the estate and in 1990 one of his sons was awarded the car he then took it to my uncle's body shop to have it repainted but could not make up his mind on what to do.
the car sat behind my uncles body shop on a trailer till 2001 thens when i asked about it he gave me the guys phone number i bought the car and trailer. (the trailer is what i really wanted) my son was 15 at the time so i decided to fix it up some and give it to him. so i did the motor (this will be addressed later) and painted it. he decided he did not want it he wanted something else.
so i sold the car to the owner i just got it back from. i did not know till this morning he pulled the motor i built and put in a 1600cc dual port with a holley 2 barrell on it. the remote engine latch is froze and i did not open it up. he never drove the car because the master cyclinder went bad and he had other projects so it just sat.
Good:
rust free pan
no cracks in fiberglass, no stress cracks on doors or at hinges
glass in goodshape
paint is really good
no crack light lenses
new american racing seats in boxes but are 10 years old
it does have the GM adapters to run GM wheels on it
the pan was not cut so all heat ducts are factory a beetle body could be reinstalled if wanted too
it has a full set of VDO period correct gages
Bad:
needs tires
needs total brake job the car has 4 wheel drums no upgrades
fuel tank and lines need flushed. (i did this 11 years ago and had tank cleaned and coated and there has not been one tank of gas ran thru it since then so dirt should not be a issue)
will need battery 12v system
the is titled as a 1977 bradley reconstructed PA title the car is located in Pittsburgh Pa zip code 15216 can load car for your shipper
E36 M3...do you really have to be in PA, instead of Atlanta like most of the other cars here... Hoping for the sake of my marriage you've already had offers out of my price range...which wouldn't take much more than beer money... I sent you an e-mail earlier.
Sounds like he was paying you to take it.......
If I didn't have too many non-running things now, I'd prolly be after it.
Even when I was a little kid, I couldn't believe that they would use school bus tail lights on these things.
i have had offers now between 800.00 and 1k on it which will buy this car no problem first one to it with cash in hand buys it. i will try to start it this weekend and check everything out on it. i will post more pics of the pan and engine

it most likely will ........Cash talks i buy and sell too many cars to sit around waiting on people. i do think the car is worth $500.00 all day long and that would buy it

I do kinda like that look too.......works with the yellow
Cutter, I agree with you there......it should be worth at least that much.
what it really needs is about a 10" wide rim in back and a 8" in front plenty of room for wheel fitment

Ha! They are aren't they!
The more I look at this car the more I like it! Putting the phone down now...
i have not really played with VW's since the late 70's and early 80's so i did some research on upgrading this car and i am shocked how pricing has dropped on parts for it. i found conversion kits to make it 4 wheeled disc brakes for $400.00 thats for everything needed. for around a $1,200.00 investment into car this thing could be pretty nice.
I have a disk brake beam sitting in my shop that would make this easy.
If I had a truck and trailer I'd probably be on my way. That would be a fun car.
Windshield alone is worth your price (range)
I have $107.39, a 5 pack of beer, and I am in Pittsburgh. If that turns out to be your best offer, shoot me a note and I'll come get it.
(I sure hope you get a better offer than that!)
