Who all is camping this year? Group of about 8 of us from Atlanta that I know of between 3-4 cars but want to gauge how many more people are staying at the track.

I'm planning on being there and camping at the track. Seems like we need to check in before we have access to the camping area so I plan on getting to the hotel for check-in at 5 on that Friday.
My friend is bringing his travel trailer, two of us. If that doesn't work out, I'll still be there, sleeping in the car

We'll have camping check in at the track, too!
So I can go straight to the track for check-in? What time is that available?
I should probably get my ticket purchased ASAP...
In reply to pres589 (djronnebaum) :
Correct. It will be whatever the schedule says camping move in time opens--sorry, not near a computer to check.
I believe that's at 5, same as general check-in at the hotel. I've already accounted for this in my plan on how I'm arriving so that's fine with me.
What's the bathrooms & showers situation like at the camp site?
In reply to pres589 (djronnebaum) :
There are a couple of big bathroom buildings. I don't recall if there are showers in them.
Pretty sure I'll be camping-still need to find a tent.
Ya'll gonna be running generators or am I OK to sleep on the ground?
Why couldn't we sleep on the ground if people are running generators? Even better question, why would anyone be running a generator, at least at night?
I assume, since this is in Florida, that the campsite will be infested with gators.
In reply to pres589 (djronnebaum) :
Lying down for 8 hours while somebody runs a generator nearby probably won't kill you but I'm trying to keep all the braincells I can. Depending on the setup some people run them for AC/power at night.
Gators are unlikely, no bodies of water nearby.
In reply to CrustyRedXpress :
I wouldn't be so sure about the bodies of water. Just south of the normal parking area is a swamp.
I assumed if someone needed A/C to sleep they'd get a hotel room. Maybe I didn't realize the caliber of individuals who will be collecting there.
And like Stampie mentioned, there's water nearby per the map I saw, I believe.
