Where is that at? The DUNE BUGGY behind the Jag will make an excellent Challenge car.
Fixed.

Ok, now I need to contact the seller and see what's what. The automotive ADHD is really strong.
I could help too. Truck and trailer so I could get it to Gainesville for you.
I might be in trouble with SWMBO. Seller responded. Car runs and is drivable. Here are the pics he sent me of the damage:

Discussed with SWMBO. It did not go well. She has drawn the line. One of the eight current vehicles must go before another can come. I'm scrambling to get something gone.....
well, the 1998 parts xj8 here in chicago is black on black. Runs, but will need timing chain guides soon. Pics were CL-worthy, but looked mostly straight. asking price was $1000. I have the guy's number even though I don't think he is still listing on CL after the $5 started.

Did you start the discussion with "Do you know how much I love you?"
You can't give yourself away that fast.
In reply to Robbie :
That's a better start than "Hey I'm buying a Jaguar that looks like it went through a car wash made of porcupines." Just saying.
In reply to Robbie :
I blame you (& yupididit) for this obsession with the XJR. Ever since I saw yours at the Saab-Ute hack party, I can't stop thinking of them.

I'm not really sorry about that. But I'll volunteer to give your wife a call and apologize if you think it will help.

I'll call her and let her know that him having 9 cars is better than him having 2 wives. Count those blessings!

LOL, It will be fun when someone does that.
But an Alfa Spider did FTD for the Challenge autocross once, so it's a pretty decent platform.

I showed her your offer of contacting her and your perspective. She was simultaneously amused and not amused, if you know what I mean. However, I laughed my A@@ off !!!!
I'm trying to work out a scheme where I can drive something of mine down to FL, sell it on the spot, and drive the Jag home. Maybe even sell my Saturn to the junkyard....
In reply to Indy-Guy :
Lmao glad she was at least a little amused.
What do you have to sell? Just tell her you'll sell one or two cars by the end of the year if she agrees to "support" your purchase of this xjr. I don't use the term "let" in regards to marital things lol
In reply to Indy-Guy :
Too bad that the challenge isn't really soon- you could go down, do some work, run the challenge, and sell for a profit. Win for all sides.
Especially GRM for having a Jag in the mix.
