I've gone and done something..... Stay tuned for more details.
You know a thread is about to get good when Indy guy starts talking to himself.
Oh, have I become "that guy" ?

Is it wrong that I'm already trying to come with a good title (name) for the build thread?
How does "Cat Scratched Kitty" sound?
Edit: or maybe Cat Scratched Jag-er
You know in honor of the current state of cosmetics.
Heck My Tom Cat comes home more beat up than That, Good Score. or You know a black Panther really does have Spots, You could 'Buff' Some In , Or Charles Chester Cheese, or Do An Outline drawing of Cluesso (Pink Panther) Cartoon.
I'm chatting with Fladriver about timing. We're discussing options, trying to get this XJR to the challenge.

You did this to me (exposing me to that Jaguar forum for sale site) and I secretly love it. I really hope it works out. Seller has gone silent for the past 22 hours...... I'm trying to send him money.

Don't put this on me! Also, you will see just how different these things are. They aren't AMG powerhouses or nimble M cars, they're like the middle between both with understated class and humbleness.
Indy - if you challenge an xjr, then i get a pretty good idea of how mine would do without actually entering it!! Since I always seem to have more challenge cars than challenge events to run them in, this is quite interesting to me.
Oh, and while we are on the challenge xjr subject, singleslammer entered one in 2017 but broke down on the drive to florida (from Missouri). His is an i6 though, a couple years older.
So there is some minor history!

That description of blend between AMG & M car, makes me even more excited about this car. Sounds like exactly what I've been looking for.

I'll have to check the exact rules of the Gastropod sub-class, but this should be a strong contender if it'll be legal for it.
Oh, and I've purchased my plane tickets, Indy-Kid #1 and I are going to embark on this adventure together, May 11th.
Did a bunch of posts in this thread referencing a $1K XJR I found on FB get zapped? I finally got a hold of the owner because somebody here was begging for contact information and now I can't find out who it was!?
In reply to stroker :
yupididit was looking. He's the one to contact. It may have been crossed over on the cheap corvette C4 thread in cars for sale. I've been lusting all over the place over an XJR. LOL

Thanks, mang, I thought I was losing my mind.
Now, on a related subject. What's to stop you from taking a cheap XJ8 with a bad engine and replacing it with one from a V8 Lincoln LS? They're the same, are they not? Anything I'm unaware of?

Yes me!
And no the aj-26 in the x308 xj8 cars are different from the aj-30 in the ford cars.
stroker said:Smells fishy, but I betcha you could get this for Challenge money
Those are more rare than the XJR with more lux features inside

And I believe that is the long wheelbase version too. More leg room for the rear passengers.
In reply to Indy-Guy :
I think this is a great contender for the Gastropod sub'class, hope you get to bring it to the challenge. How old is Indy-Kid #1, sounds like a good time, I find road trips a great Dad and Kid time. See you both Saturday.

Just to close the loop on this one, just in case you guys following along here missed the thread in the builds sub-forum. Car is purchased and home safe. Indy-Kid #1 and I had a great time.
You'll need to log in to post.
