Hey all, I heard differing things from the challenge last year, but the prize $100 from eBay for the first 5 and last 5 place people, was that part of budget? Does that count as $100 in head room for the $2000 budget? Would the top five and bottom five people have a $2100 budget since they were given a $100 coupon to use on their challenge cars? It sounds crazy but I recall some hot tub conversations about it.

I'm going to go with if it's not budget exempt listed in the rules then it's not exempt from your budget. Plus if prizes were exempt it would give the top teams an unfair advantage going into the next year.

Top teams already have an advantage going into the next year.
Prizes are not budget exempt. Same budget as everybody else.
Thanks for the clarification all, it makes sense. I was just remembering some hot tub comments, and the occasional "we'd love to see these turbos on your challenge car" comments so wanted to double check.
