Hi all,
It's time to start ordering resources for the Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge presented by Tire Rack, so I wanted to make sure you guys didn't forget to register.
I know waiting until the last-minute is popular, but now is when we have to answer key questions like:
- How many pro drivers should we hire?
- How many restrooms should we order?
- Can we justify keeping the snack bar open all day?
- How much PA equipment should we bring?
- How big should the paddock be?
- How frequently will the trash cans need to be emptied?
- How much surface prep goo should we order for the drag strip?
If you're coming, please register ASAP. Otherwise, I'm basically taking wild guesses at who will show up, and we're not really a big enough company to guess wildly above actual attendance.
Register here:

Thanks!
I registrated! It's official.
Now, to put the engine back together! Lolz.
I don't actually have a car yet and certainly no longer have any teammates at the moment...
But I have a hotel room, a driver's wristband and plenty of time to figure something out.
So I don't have a car but I can come help out wherever needed if that okay? I would like to be there.

Well if we let tb come hang out I guess we'll let just about anyone. Meant with love tb.
Just got my room booked! Yay!

I have a car and an idea, that's about it. You sound like my other half.
Should I register even if my chances of making it are under 20%?

Sorry if I should know this...
Have you been before? If not, come anyway! It's awesome!
In reply to wvumtnbkr :
Andy is Challenge famous for his love of Challenge Q45s, selling me a $50 Q45, showing up for the party, and not finishing his projects for even longer than me.
I registered to volunteer, enjoyed doing that last year. Hope to see some unusual (and running!) cars.

I do, in truth, feel the love. Honestly, I had a plan in place and everything but it all fell apart on me... maybe next year?

Sounds perfect, I do my best driving in someone else's car!

Morning work shift (X2) signed up and ready to go.
Unfortunately we're staying home this year. New business venture needs babysat, the full eclipse is the 8th and we're in the direct path, and I've got a Corolla to build to win overall in 2025.
I'm doing it wrong, as I'll be in Alaska and it's the wrong time of the year to be in Alaska (I'll be very cold starting Friday).
I did. Got a hotel room too!

If you do, I wonder if you can transfer it to someone else who didn't get in on the block rate.
One day soon, probably next year, I'm gonna berkeleying yeet my schedule and drive a sketchy car 4 thousand miles and do this.
Or buy a car in the vicinity of Gainesville and beat it to death at the challenge and see how much I can sell it for.
It is with severe and likely recurrent regret that I must concede that I can't make it this year
