I had this engine in my Impreza last year, and thought I did something horrible to it, consequently swapping it out for a Legacy motor. After the swap was done and I started pulling the EJ25 apart, I find out what the problem actually was: a destroyed timing belt pulley thing (lower driver's side). The timing belt still had tension, the bearing part of that pulley thing just sort of...exploded, so I'm assuming the motor is actually still good. Had high miles (thought to be ~200K), but it was running strong up until that moment.
Currently does not have the following: -Destroyed pulley thing -Wiring harness -Plastic coolant neck over thermostat -Throttle body (might have one from the auto EJ22, or one from an auto EJ18) -Coilpack, spark plug wires -Any accessories (PS pump, alternator, AC condensor) -Water temp sensor in coolant pipe under IM
Currently does not have the following mounted, but will include: -Crank pulley -Crank sprocket (from an auto EJ22 but looked identical) -Driver's side cam gear (from an auto EJ22) -Timing belt tensioner -Coilpack from either this motor, or the auto EJ22 (not sure which one it is, just have it laying around)
The cam position sensor on the driver's side is also kind of fubar'd, and would most likely require replacement.
