I just bought this Miata about a month ago. It's a very nice, quick car, but it needs more work to be a nice daily than I'm willing to put into it. It doesn't need much at all to be a weekend toy/track slut. I drive it every day with no issues except oil consumption

The good: It's from Hampton Roads, VA. No rust that I can see. The top is very nice with no tears or leaks, and works flawlessly. It has an aftermarket catback that appears to be stainless steel, and an aftermarket header that looks nice. It has an aftermarket intake of some sort. It has aftermarket springs that look like eibachs, and an aftermarket front swaybar. No power options at all. Manual steering, air conditioning completely removed. It has a decent JVC head unit, and very nice sounding 3-way Pioneer 6.5"s in the doors. The previous owner alleges that the car has 60K miles on a rebuilt engine. It pulls like a raped ape, so I take his word for it. It doesn't feel like a 219K-mile engine. Car has been converted to electric fans.

The bad. Title is branded TMU. The odometer reads 219k and the speedometer doesn't work. I theorize that the non-operational speedometer is the reason that the title is branded TMU. It's missing a few nuts and bolts. Each seat is held down by two out of four bolts. The bottom of the driver's side fender aren't bolted to the car. I can't find the damned bolts anywhere, and they didn't come with the car. The hood and front bumper are flat black. The rest of the car is faded red. The hood is held down by hood pins. The car is losing oil. I think it's leaking somewhere, falling onto the exhaust and burning off. I don't think the engine is burning oil, because the oil consumption issue isn't getting any worse as I rack up miles on the car. Plus, the engine feels too strong to have any internal issues, and it doesn't make any odd noises. I don't think the car has a catalytic converter.

Pics to come. I'll trade for anything fun to drive and not domestic (except for Turbo dodges). I'm somewhat negotiable on price, but please keep in mind that this is a running, driving, non-rusted out Miata.

How much oil is it losing?

About a quart every 200-300 miles. I just keep filling it and daily driving it. I'm 100% sure it's a leak now, since I;ve seen it leave puddles.

I'd jump on this if I was in a position to throw away some money.
