With the acquisition of the Mustang, both my need for a rumbly V8 and my time available for car work means that I need to ditch my GRM build. Here's what I have:

1992 Oldsmobile Bravada. OK shape. Stripped interior. Gutting started. 4.3 / 700R4 / with the desirable full time AWD transfer case. This was basically a Typhoon without the boost. Ran (poorly) when parked. Pretty sure the fuel spider took a E36 M3, as above 3000 RPM it was great, but tried to flood itself to a stall below that. Had a dented fender and cracked grill, but I have replacements. Otherwise, clean body. No rust found. It's got a healthy layer of nature on it right now from sitting outside, but that's a pressure washer away from being removed.

Small Block Chevy with Vortec Heads, Edelbrock intake and carb, and HEI distributor. Got this from Angry - it's the motor he originally built for the V8 Porsche.

My phase 1 plan was a V8 version of a Syclone / Typhoon. 300+ HP, AWD with a 33/66 torque split. I was envisioning performance on par with an STi. Phase 2 was to remove the Olds body, cut 30" out of the wheelbase, and drop an old Jeep body on it. Figured it could hit 2000# give or take, and be rowdy and awesome and contend for the win.

This luxurious collection can be yours for the low low price of $1000. I'm in Braselton, GA, just outside of Atlanta.

you can't quit this build.
OK, if you really have to quit the build then you have to get an agreement that whoever buys it does the build exactly as it was envisioned.

I may be able to help with transport if it helps Dave with the sale. I am planning a trip west to Oklahoma soon.......

Just remembered - I've also got a set of 16 x 9 basketweave wheels with some old / dead kumho R-Comps to go with it. Extra $200 for the buyer of the rest?

Don't need it, but have had similar nasty thoughts in the past. Bump for a cool project.

two corrections: i didn't build it, i bought it as-is for the V8 944 but a job change and relocation kept me from doing the swap. also, it's a complete vortec 5.7 so it's got the roller cam and one-piece rear main seal, as well as (obviously) the vortec heads.

I'm completely serious. This sounds so berkeleying awesome; it's killing me, but there's just no way I'm going to be able to build a challenge car this year. If basic training didn't last 13 weeks, I'd be on my way.

I'd even let you keep the Natty, because I don't drink that swill.

The Challenge sounds like a blast.

Why hasn't anyone bought this yet? If you still have this in September, I'm going to need to see it.

I want to say I recall somone who modded a sy/ty intake for a vortec... there are also carbie options... but if you've already got the engine...

with either engine you could easily do a rear mounted turbo...

(had pics of a clean twin turbo setup in an s10 but can't find pics... so here's an ugly one...)

wish I had the $$$ or means... but the garage is full and waiting on me to finish the project... sometimes I wonder why I didn't go v8 in that s10... i'd prob be driving it around by now if I had.
