SOLD!
Having seen this car at the challenge, it is absolutely beautiful. Wish I was in a position to grab it, but unless y'all are interested in a partial trade for the 3rd-Gen Fireturd I'm bringing this year, there's no way I can swing it.
Good luck with the sale!
Interior is completely gutted save for the dash (per the rules,) new carpet, and a stock seat. I'll post pics as I get them.
Love this car. One random question (and perhaps I don't understand the rules correctly): If the car is bought for $3000, how can it be entered in the $2012 Challenge legally?

The moment you enter it in the challenge, it's a $2,000 car. Calm down. Don't over-think it.
Say one were to buy it with the intentions of taking it to this years challenge. Any chance purchase of the car could occur at the challenge?

You'd have to work that out with Matt, but I'm guessing it's a possibility. Pm me if you're serious and want his info.
poop,
Wasnt gonna have time for the challenge this year. But..... I am interested. I fly into tampa, drive to Gainsville, race, drive home to TN? Any issues with sustained hwy driving? do you have the pass seat?

That would be awesome. Would suck to drive back, but probably not as bad as the 49. You'd need to work something out for street wheels/tires. If your passenger can make it to north ga, I think I have a seat in the basement. PM me if you're interested.
As far as sustained hwy driving issues, it has 200,000 ish miles and dozens of passes on nitrous. Should be fine.
Fwiw, I daily drove it 80 miles a day w/no windows and no heat for the entire winter of '03.
I think they did lexan side windows that slide in and out of the impact beam on the door. It is not a car you'd want to drive to work every day.

I will be coming down with the family and Yukon XL...Might be able to bring my open trailer to help transport something back up to N. Alabama area. I am out of Huntsville.

There is still time to do a fly and drive for the Challenge. If it helps the car is from the Atlanta area, and in not rusty. The paint job on the car is worth the purchase price!
You'll need to log in to post.
