It is that time again, last list was in 2019. There have been 5 Challenges since I updated the list I have compiled:
- I can guarantee it is not perfectly accurate
- The list is based on the number of entries, not the absolute number of cars that have been to an event. If a car was run more than one year(or twice at the same event), it will be counted for each entry.
- A plus sign means the vehicle was in the "Race" class in 2001
- I skipped the cars in 2015 that ran in exhibition as part of the challenge anniversary, and any of the over budget entries in the newer events.
Interesting trivia:
- There have been 55 3-Series BMW entries so far. E30s are the most popular, although none have been entered since 2018.
- 2024 was the first year an AWD car won the event. The last time a FWD car won was 2013(Congrats SDAC!). Most winners are RWD.
- There have been 5 Mercedes entries, all separate models, and the only year more than one showed up was 2019.
- AFAIK(I could have missed something), Ford (sort of) holds several records for longest gap between challenge events. The Suprang holds the record for longest gap for a specific car between events, competing in 2004 and 2005, then not again until 2022. The Ford Taurus is the longest model name gap between events. A 2nd gen competed in 2005, and the next to show up was the Ecoboost Police Interceptor Taurus in 2022. The 2nd gen(US) Ford E scort holds the record for longest gap in a single generation of a model showing up in 2004 and not returning until 2021. Interesting to note the gap is the same for all three.

Ahh, it's a relic. In the older lists, I had an asterisk for each time a entry had won an event. Partway through updating the list, I realized the asterisks didn't survive the conversion from Excel to OpenOffice, so I decided to be lazy, and just remove them from what I had added in the last few days. Looks like I missed one.
