There is a 0% chance my challenge car can use anything remotely resembling a "Stock" battery location/install.

What is required to be legal?  Mounts / box requires or is a firewall fine?  Is a cutoff switch required?  If so Where can it go?  Does it "have" to go somewhere? Rules imply "back of car" but how specific is that?  If I have one near the engine but on the outside bodywork does that meet tech?

Long term i will probably end up with 2 cutOff switches.  One in the SCCA/NASA position near the Driver but still accessible from the outside and one in the NHRA position.

But I was wondering what challenge participants have done in practice vs letter of the rule.

If the battery is separated from the passenger compartment by a bulkhead/firewall, no box is required. Metal strap over the battery, ⅜" hardware

If you are slower than 11.49, Challenge rules trump NHRA wrt the cut-off switch and you can place it wherever you like so long as it is reachable by emergency crew and labeled.

Thank you for the reminder and I need to swap out my battery tray so that the battery tie down actually works.
