I've seen 2 really nice ones with modern, FI V6s in them - one a Chevy engine, the other a Ford. Seemed like plenty of motive power.

The thing about the Buick is that it over doubles the HP of the stock engine easily, but weighs LESS than the 4 cyl that's in it already. IIRC, the 215 he has is about a 220 hp engine which would be about perfect in a BGT. You just have to deal with the mounts and a transmission.

To be honest, though, the Capri V6 for sale here in the calssifieds would be another perfect choice.

But imagine how much cooler rally-crossing a BGT would be.

Now that I've discovered the joy of working on old BMWs, I have little interest in messing with the confounding British Leyland stuff. I'd rather rebuild an entire e30 than do the rear suspension on my GT6 again.

Plus, getting a BGT through a rallycross unbroken sounds unlikely....while the e30 has gone 3 full seasons with not a single thing broken, lol.

Plus there aren't many MGs at the pick-n-pull these days.

Conversely, I'd rather stick hot needles into my eyes rather than wrench on an E30 again. But I never found a Spit rear suspension all that difficult to rebuild.
