Although I haven't seen this one, I know that most E30's near D town suffer from rust.

I once saw a beater E36 M3 (the car not the swear word) with rusty rockers, hinges, trunk lid, etc

i called and got the address. google maps street view shows it's hood, but that's what we expect in da 313. i'm going to take a drive at lunchtime since it's only about 20 minutes from my office. just to check out the hood, not to buy the car.

i'm back.

yeah, it's hood. joy and wyoming, for those who might know the 313. any neighborhood where there's people in their mid-20s just hanging out on the street in the middle of a weekday, i'm not too comfy carrying a pocketful of cash into that neighborhood. still, i might go against my better judgment and try to get down there early one morning to take a look, while the hood-rats are sleeping.

Come on Mr. Brown, you don't have a 3.slow sitting in your garage? I know your penchant for blue oval junk. or did Mrs. Brown make you get rid of all that stuff?

I have been authorized to "get the Beetle running" which will be loosely translated into either 1: replace stock components OR 2: Install Northstar drivetrain and build custom axle shafts...

The TGP has found a new home and the profits from which will cover the Northstar donor car as well as the axle shaft mods needed...

Wow. I think I appraised a house back a few years ago in that area. Before the bubble burst, and I still think it was below 20k. I wonder what its worth now, I haven't appraised a house in 3 years.

a friend lives in farmington hills, paid about $280k for a ranch a few years ago. the crib next door is foreclosed and is listed by a foreclosure specialist. his website lists 213 properties, mostly "in tha D". sorting by price, lowest is

[Dr. Evil] One Thousand Dollars! [/Dr. Evil]

yes, that's right, $1k. it's kinda boarded up and kinda crumbling and kinda stripped of all aluminum siding and gutters and kinda on a block surrounded by other houses that look just like it, with grass 4 ft high growing up through the sidewalk out front. looks to have been abandoned for many years, but is probably being lived in by crackheads. there were about 50 houses under ten grand. detroit is nasty.

oh, the 325 is an automatic, and according to the owner:

"the interior is in mint condition. the driver seat is the only seat that has rips in it. the carpet is over all clean. i did make it a job to wash and clean the interior weekly, every sunday. the glovebox doent open it needs a new latch. and the middle consel jus need new screws. the radio work, it has a cd player but the origanal radio is still in the trunk. the interior lights do not work.i believe the bubs are jus blown.

i am not a smoker, but occassionally i would have a passenger that does smoke.but like i stated i cleaned the interior weekly. while i was driving the car. it is am automatic trans.well it was told to me that the radiator was cracked. however it has never ran hot on me while i was driving it. i did have the engine flushed and stuff when i bought the car. but when it started driving funny i took it to a mechanic and he told me it needs a head gasket. and another mechanic told me the same thing. the body is nice. it does not have any dents. it does have some scratches. but nearly rust free. the rust is mainly on the underbody and thats it. i hope ive answered all of ur questions. thanks..."

it was at 3pm yesterday. even though i'd only part it out, i used the automatic as an excuse to not buy it, because i didn't want to tell the seller that i am afraid to tell someone in that hood that i'm going to show up on a certain date and time with cash in my pocket. like my friend angry tom said, "dude, you'll wind up with holes in your torso and lint in your pocket."

i guess i could say i'm just coming to take a look, and that i'd have to go back to the bank since i never carry cash, that way an ambush might not be waiting for me. then i could show up with truck, dolly, and cash, and make a quick exit stage left before the gunners showed up.

or just schedule it for really early in the AM, when the thugs are still asleep. think they'd get up early for $400?
