"don't drive stick, just got titled in my name" sounds like someone inherited a house with a car in the garage that they DGAF about.

If this was close, I'd be buying it, as I have a friend looking for a cheap Miata.
I was given a Miata a couple of years ago. Guy had sold his house and the deal was closing the following week and there was a leaky Miata in the garage that the new home owners had no interest in. Just get it outta here, which I did. Deals do happen, I wouldn't write this one off as a scam necessarily.
I have family in the area and tried to get them to grab it. Seems it's gone now.
