Again, to me, selling is still separate from trading, as it always has been, and that's how I'm planning my build. And technically, the rules don't state that trades are recoup. It states "Trades count towards your recoup limit..."

Mostly I just want to know what the "approved" interpretation is so that I can work to it.
Now here's the arm chair quarterback opinion: Upping the recoup limit to $2000 was too big a jump. I'd say only raise it to $1500. All trades count against the overall recoup limit, but only sales count against the individual recoup limits.
But this isn't my show so I'll work with whatever the official word is.
In reply to Bigben :
I agree, we just need someone official to make it explicit.

Sorry everybody--I missed this question.
No, you can't trade anymore once you've hit your recoup limit. As the rules state, "Trades count towards your recoup limit, and must be recorded on your budget sheet." When the traded part leaves the budget, it raises the amount of money you've recouped. This can't happen if you've hit your recoup limit.

Quick question in here. Relating to the recoup of sold parts. I think I know the answer but just want confirmation.
Purchased car for $500. So while the recoup limit is now $2000 I can only put on my budget sheet recoup up to $500. I could still remove and sell parts myself but it wouldn't be additional money to increase my spendable budget.

individual line item recoup limit has been removed, so you CAN recoup full $2000 from your $500 car. hooray!

So I can sell from my $500 car, parts totaling $1000, then my spendable budget would be $2500?
$2000 original budget
-$500 purchase
+$1000 parts sales
$2500 available?
Just trying to be sure.

Everyone has $2000 to spend and $2000 to recoup/trade.
You have paid $500 of the $2000 spend. You have $1500 left.
You can trade or recoup $2000.
$1500+2000 = $3500. Add in your original $500 and you have the same $4000 budget available anyone has now.
