Damn respectable for a project car, with cross-platform parts, wiring challenges, and ancient tires, that hadn't run for 4 years!

I'm just surprised we got enough rust out to prevent it insta-clogging the filter.

I would prefer to sell it. Now that it runs I keep getting all these ideas about enjoying the supercharged goodness, but I have too many projects and my MR2 adventures have switched to a recently acquired 3rd gen.

Clutch was about gone by the time drags came around. Still made respectable times, and might be okayish for any type of daily driving.
But thats not why you buy a SC'd MR2

Wow! That gas tank.... is... ummm... kinda scary looking... LOL
Talk about fuel slosh and needing to keep that thing at least half full at all times...
In reply to Dudefladge :
They've got a bunch of baffles in them to prevent that, although as we found with this one all those baffles can be great at forming rust too.

Holy crap I didn't realize it was a 3.2 60ft.
With a working clutch it's easily a 15 second car!
I am very happy we got this running as well as it was. I really think a person with some time could turn this into a fun ripper. But it does need attention in a lot of areas.

The original car 1/4 mile times for MR2 SCs are in the 14s.
That's awesome. I didn't realize that. I was kind of dismissing the SC version as "not that much power" compared to modern stuff. I guess combining old school "high power" with old school vehicle weights makes it quicker than I thought.
