Starting budget with trade?

For challenge math somewhat confused on where my starting point is. 
 

1. bought salvage Miata $853

2. Took one tail light, trunk lid, and a nasty cracked rear bumper off parts car. 

3. Sold the rollbar for $150

4. Tonight I just traded the Miata for a Saab 9-3. 
 

What is my starting price for the Saab?

$703 with $150 in recovery already used.

I would have $703 recoup available left for the Saab.  (Or is it $553 left for the Saab $703-150=$553)
 

I would have $147 left in "other" recoup?  $1000-$703-$150=$147 (Or is it 297 left in other $1000-$553-$150=$297)

sorry for the confusion just trying to get it straight. 

$703 recoup left in the Saab and this stuff:
