Since they weren't taking nominations, my entry is the default winner.

PimpM3, Hobiercr, Kurt, Chris B and Tod B.

I had a mechanical failure after the first set of autocross runs Saturday morning, and even though I was ready to abandon the event and load up to fix it at home, all of these competitors had the "failure is not an option" mentality.  None even remotely considered that we couldn't get it done to be fixed before the drag racing.  They were selfless and truly embodied the spirit of the event.

I only repaid one beer for all of the effort.  I am humbled that they all pitched in and ignored my defeated attitude and went to work to make the POS start when it did its best German electrical resistance dance.  And especially to Tod for listening to us, crawling under the car to check wiring, then ignoring all of us to crawl under the dash and figure it out.

All excellent humans, that list. Most/all have helped me with something(s) at some point. Tod let me take a car and mail a check a couple weeks later, kurt looked at a skyline for me, hoopes lets me use his yard as trailer storage then takes ME out to dinner. Only a few examples.

Oh, yeah, there’s definitely a “village” vibe at the $2000 Challenge. Thanks, everyone, for contributing to it.

Saw a couple of groups doin that.  I didn't really think much of it (cause that's what the Challenge is, at its heart) but my gf was very impressed by the sense of community

I know we had multiple offers of help while we missed the first half of autocross and got gas from people because you know the whole reason it wouldn't run is it didn't have gas.... We were Given loaner helmets from different competitors Because ours were out of date Legitimately without the village community we would not have been able to even run probably much less Come out and show what the car was really capable of!

Thank you to the Village it was badass!!!

When things go sideways for competitors at this event, people pull together to try to help make things right.

The cars are awesome, the people are amazing.
