No kidding. If that's a legit 340 car, it's worth at least four times what he wants to trade for. Even it it's not a 340 car, just stickers and an air cleaner on a 318, it's still worth quite a bit more.

And Al drove a Dart Swinger.

I wonder if he'd take a '75 Duster with a slant 6..

nope. He drove a Dodge Dart , but it really was the equivilent Plymouth. It had the wrong roof line for a Swinger.

Upon further examination, I am wrong. That's a Duster, half-vinyl roof and all.

But Al referred to it as "Dodge"...and I could have sworn it had the notchback roof, but I remembered wrong, I guess...

I don't know what Al Bundy drove, but in the early 70s, "Swinger" was an option package/trim level on the Dart that included vinyl roof and rallye wheels and likely other things. My dad had a '73 two-door. I don't know if you could get the package on a sedan or not.

Swinger was not available on the Dart Sport/Demon (Dodge's versions of the fastback A-body), IIRC.

I love MWC and have every episode on disc (thank you bittorremt) but I always wondered about the Duster/Dodge duality. The Demon kind of explains it but were they available with vinal roof? And I thought they had a body-colored rear bumper.

No body colored rear bumper on the demon-the later fastback (Dart Sport) had an aluminum panel between the taillights. I don't think you could get body color bumpers on the Duster or Demon-I'm pretty sure even the strippo models had chrome bumpers. My '73 Duster was strippo (PS, A/C, and Vinyl Roof) but it still had chrome bumpers.

Come to think of it, it was originally Al-Bundy Bronze with a white vinyl roof too...

Back on topic, if this is legit, someone here should snap it up.

I thought Al always referred to it as "A Duster" but Peg called it "A Dodge".
