To be fair an experienced tech can have a car in "service position" in 10 minutes with the correct and very simple tool
I feared it too, until I did it and then I LOVED it. It makes everything so easy.

Easy is sitting on the inner fender of my K30 while changing the alternator. But y'all have convinced me. I might buy that next A4 I happen across.
