Well as i type this im in the staging lanes. No nitrous tonight as the only peice the kit didnt come with was a nozzle adapter which was 5 bucks so im waiting on that. Tonights goal is to make sure its mechanically sounds and that street tires arent a horribly wrong idea lol
They will probably feel like a horrible idea on a fwd car, but unless you are setting it up only for drag, it's probably the best bang for buck. I'm still sticking to my mid to high 13 once it's dialed.

Slicks allow wheel spin and traction simultaneously, the wheel hop from street tires is from the tire gaining and losing traction rapidly. I think a slick will bandaid this. There are other factors like bushing deflection and stuff like that but I'm not going to solve any of that and I don't know that it's playing that big a roll in why I will hop but we will see LOL

I appreciate you're enthusiasm, but you seem to have posted a picture of the wrong winning car.
I've corrected that for ya:
No, no. You're both wrong. My son's just need a few finishing touches to put you all to shame.
I need to make sure my seatbelts all work. I wanna roll 5 deep on a couple fun-runs. Helmets bouncin off each other in the back.
I see everyone is in the same last week thrash. Here is my contribution and a peak at this years winner.

We were going to bring two cars, but my son's car has been taking most of the available time and it's still going to be a sprint to get it completed. (He was pretty excited this past weekend when I told him we'd just focus on his car and leave the Opel at home, since at the time his engine was still just a block with no head.)
Well, I had a great plan for the concours after finding this line in the official rules:
"During the concours, there are no minimum clothing requirements"
I had everything ready to go, then the powers that be decided to let kids in for free. I'm gonna need to rethink some things now.
Hosting the event means I don't have a $2000 Challenge car, but I did make some progress on the pit bike this weekend! The Ruckus ditched its bald, flat-spotted tires for a fresh set of round, treaded tires. I'll see you all at the event!
We have drastically saved weight everywhere we could without turning it into a complete tin can.
Once the car was done we didnt stop there. We started deleting body parts to keep the process going. Operation appendix delete has been completed. We are lighter than ever.

I have jokes, but will save them for when it no longer hurts to laugh. Glad you are (mostly) ok!
I'm on my way to spectate, hoping everyone makes it there (mostly) intact...
I'm really proud of this kid. He rebuilt and turbocharged his first engine, put in a lot of late nights, learned a lot and sprinted to the deadline. He got his S13 running at 10pm last night. but immediately encountered an overheating issue. We already had the truck loaded and were already an hour past the drop dead time for departure for Florida. So sadly with no time to troubleshoot we had to throw in the towel, close up the truck and go to bed and dream of what could have been. I guess we'll see you next year. Good luck to everyone who competes tomorrow.
