What goes on while camping isn't talked about...
Because that looks potentially quite solid...
In Vegas people don't generally have to worry about flying off a track into a ditch which may be full of water which may have gators in it
I did up a layout that keeps the ends of straightaways away from low-runoff areas:
No, camping won't be like vegas. Instead of taking your money and giving you nothing, we'll be taking your money and giving you the best weekend of your life.

Mid-late October when its still in the 80s during the day?
Nah, you dig through the ditches, I'll be out where its dry burning through the witches.
Can we camp if we're not competing / part of a team? I would assume people are getting there Friday to make Saturday less insane?
In reply to Stampie :
I really need to start working on getting things ready for this. My plan is for a two overnight stop trip down so I'm not trying to cannonball it from Wichita. Probably get to Gainesville around noon or something along those lines. My hope was that I could camp with the rest of the weirdos at the track. What happens after the event is still up in the air for me but that's a separate issue. Things wrap up during daylight hours on Sunday?

So things have been very fluid in recent years. Here's how our schdule has gone.
Pre Covid:
Arrive Thursday hopefully early to enjoy the hotel car show. Get up early Friday and get to the track for autocross. Rest/nap Friday after autocross. Eat the track side dinner if we woke up and then do drags. Party at the hotel after drags and head back for concourse Saturday morning. After concourse nap in the hotel lobby until time for the awards dinner. Hope the dinner ended early enough so that we could head back to Jax so that we could sleep in our own bed.
Post Covid:
Just about the same except no awards dinner. The awards are done track side so that cuts out our nap but bonus is it ended up early enough that heading home to Jax wasn't a problem.
Post Covid Normal Weekend Event:
So this year everything has moved back a day. We plan on getting to the hotel Friday morning. I assume Saturday will be the normal autocross then drags in the evening. Concourse Sunday morning and I'm guessing track side awards since registration didn't ask what kind of dinner we wanted. Hopefully that'll get us home early enough Sunday evening to relax. From above post I'm willing to bet there'll be at least one 911 call at the track side camping. Hopefully it'll just be considered a minor alcohol related incident and no one will need stitches. Either way no one tells details because everyone knows snitches get stitches.

Wait you're making this too easy. There's a one hour window where I can do both.
9:00 a.m.—Hagerty Cars & Caffeine begins
9:15 a.m.—Concours pavilion opens for move-in.
10:00 a.m.—Judging begins
