Selling a dead project that a friend started and is collecting dust in my garage. yes, I have his permission to sell it.

1963 Austin healey sprite, no title, not needed in GA. new floors, good solid car. good windshield, no side glass, no latches (we were going to weld the doors shut). good trunk lid, fixable hood with some rust and dents on the leading edge.

2005 GSXR1000 car kit. harness, engine, throttle bodies, airbox, computer.

Mod-Lite driveshaft that is the perfect length. ModLites are a Midwest dirt oval series kinda like legends racing. They spec a GSXR1000 motor in a car that's surpisingly close to sprite sized.

$3000 into the project, challenge competitor will get for $1500 firm. willing to separate. $500 for car, 1500 for GSXR stuff...

Needs brakes, clutch, and shifter to run.

text me, I can text or email some pictures.

Crap. I want this, and I'm in GA.

Is the drivetrain complete? Does it run?

Is it mounted to the Austin's chassis, or tubular?

Any reverse gear? (Don't really care). Any roll bar, etc? Is the driveshaft mounted, or out of car?

Was this being setup for racing or the street?

How hard would it be to transplant the entire running drivetrain (mounts and all) to something else? I've been looking for a drivetrain like this.

Any idea what the overall weight is? (Maybe I'll keep it as-is)

In reply to SVreX:

I'll guess under 2000lbs, and it should make approx 175-180hp at the crank. Shifter shouldn't be too hard to be honest. Steve, is it still using the bike trans somehow?(this would also answer if it had reverse)

Wait, is the engine in the car, or is this some form of kit?

What is included in the kit?

For anyone who is interested in the roller Sprite, let me put in a word...

I have seen this car, and it's in mighty fine shape. It would be really hard to find a roller of virtually any car in anywhere near this condition for twice the price Steve is asking.

I almost brought it home. Thankfully, I was driving a MINI.

Besides, Steve is really cool, and it's worth a trip to his house just to see his projects and the artwork on his walls. Bring a trailer, and take home a great condition Sprite!

Thanks Steve.

Damn, I was hoping you were bringing it home and that would give me some time to make some space in the shop and get it after you give up in a year. Thanks for nothing!

Sounds like a really fun project. Way too far from here!
