I'm no Triumph expert, but I agree- not a 1500. I can't imagine why anyone in their right mind would put a 1500 in an earlier car.
Be neat if it had a log book . . . kind of neat anyway but also kind of a lot of money.

Because it basically bolts right in, and if you have a broken 1147 and a running 1500 ....
Why would someone put a 327 into a Chevy that came with a 283?
The 327 wasn't exactly a bad engine.
