In the interest of downsizing and reallocating funds I've decided to let the Scirocco go to a good home.
It's a very clean 1976 and 1/2 Super Scirocco. This was the first watercooled - fuel injected VW sold in the U.S. By 77 they were all injected. As all 2,500 Super Sciroccos were, it is goldflake-brown metallic (so 70s) and it appears it's never been re-painted. This car hasn't been registered since 1986, but the PO claims the 1.5 liter is freshly rebuilt. I haven't attempted to start it, as a 2.0 liter ABA was in the works. (ABA may also be for sale for the right $$)
The interior has been taken out, but is complete, and besides the front seats having minor rips is in good shape. (will need a headliner) Good dash, early wheel, great door panels, like-new carpet, etc.
Clean car with a ton of potential. Car is located in Daytona, just 1 mile from GRM / CMS office. (these are flyweight cars--- sub 2000 lbs!)
This car will be listed on VW Vortex and Ebay Motors very soon. I'll sell it for Challenge $$ but not much below. (bottom $$ is $1,500-- no less) Just try and find another clean-- early 1st Gen Scirocco (flush turn signals) They are nearly all gone.

Oh man, Joe - you need to get professional help. That's such a sweet shape, and you managed to make it look like a VW Fox Seriously, I love the looks of these cars. It's a good thing I'm full up on projects. It'll go quickly.
At least we know there's something fun coming to replace it

Tell me a little more about your 2.0L ABA- I'm interested.
If you tell me it's a turbocharged 16V, I'm on my way.
Wish I were closer, I would bring it home.

Great. Now there are TWO cars down there I want.
(I looked at an Ohio '77 Scirocco last year. Cheap, but not cheap enough considering the rust...)
I'm sure this car -as sitting- would NOT make a drive back to Ohio...
Thanks Mike---
SVreX--- Nah, this isn't some crazy engine, just a factory fresh 8v ABA. (crossflow) I'm probably going to keep it for a future VW build.
Stan--- no sir, this car hasn't moved under it's own power since 1986--- it is not drivable.
And Keith---- I'll get right on it, and make sure I have some Ansel Adams quality photos posted soon!

In reply to Joe Gearin:
Whew! That's really good news!
1st the TR6, now the Scirocco! What's wrong with you?!
I want them both! Glad you're not down the street!
Wow, that's tasty goodness. Not a close enough shot, but funny how similar that gauge cluster area looks to the early square dash 944

Oh you can have both! I'll even make a package deal for both cars--- $4,500.
OK, here's the deal. you get Motorsport Marketing to provide the parts for the clutch / brake / whatever, to make the TR6 roadtrippable to Detroit. They get enough content for a couple articles out of the investment, you get my 2003 Mazda6 V6 5speed sport package with leather and Bose audio, on fresh rubber. You keep the scirocco to do with as you please. I drive the Mazda to you, and I drive home happy as berkeley in my sweet TR6.

That would work awesome if I was looking for a trade.
I'm looking for cold-hard cash though--- another vehicle won't solve my issue.
Wanna sell the right door? ;)
Joe, you're an evil, evil man. If I had a giant pole barn and was independently wealthy, I'd be all over this.

Corey, you don't have to be wealthy, or have a big pole! I'll make you a special deal if you want it pal! That way my other neglected VW would have company!

I really wish I could, but I'm totally our of indoor parking, and I just couldn't to that to her!
Last chance guys!
This is headed to VW Vortex and then Ebay if no-one snatches it up. Totally rare and cool VW---- I thought I'd give you guys a chance first......but if no one wants to step up to the plate I'll go elsewhere.
Lemme know before I open the door to the "general public"

Joe, put it on the scirocco list, someone will buy it immediately.
