Dirt Cheap good ol boy thrills, had a baby boy three weeks ago and I have too many project cars..

1979 Plymouth Fire Arrow

Engine: 1600cc 4g32 Chain Drive Ported Head by Keith Black's shop Comp Cams built to C2 Rally Spec Dual Weber Side Drafts (40DCOE with Ram Flo's) Equal-length header, 2.5 in exhaust with new thrush muffler Accel 300+ Digital Multispark Ignition with built in rev limiter (adjustable) Accel Hi-Temp Super Stock Radio Suppresion 8mm Ignition Wires NGK Iridium Plugs Battery Relocated (to Rear of car) Tachometer Voltmeter Oil Pressure Gauge Fuel Level Gauge Fuel Pressure Gauge Water Temp Gauge Oil Filter Relocate Holley Fuel Pump

Handles: Aftermarket Suspension built to C2 Rally Spec Rear Disc Brake Conversion Welded Differential Rip Stick Adjustable Brake Bias

Body: Roll Cage, R.J.S 4 pt racing harness Skid plates for Engine and gas tank Gutted/Plexiglass Windows 4 Baja Rally Lamps (selectable)

New radiator, new brake pads, new pulleys, had valves reseated, engine has new gaskets, had weber's ultrasonic reduced and the jets were swapped, put in the digital ignition system... Also, the plastic gas pedal broke and has been replaced with an alum bass kick pedal from a pearl drumset Car is a blast to drive, you can't kill the thing. I have 3 Haynes manuals for maintenance; easiest car I've ever worked on. The car still has an SCCA logbook from when it was a stage car, but all the safety gear needs to be updated before it can stage again.

Car comes with a bunch of spare parts; the major stuff is: An Engine, a transmission (gears are good), a spare axle, a spare differential, spare pistons and connecting rods, 4 studded winter tires/rims, two spare rally tires/rims, spare EQ Length header.

The car needs to have a garage at its new home and an owner who isn't afraid of resto-work and tinkering. If you would like to ride/drive along, we can set up a date and I will bet you money it will put a smile on your face.

$1650. (Email for ride along at PSCCNY JUNE 1)

That "mopar" needs a large 01 on the door.

Damn I have to get my "project" Subaru done and get the cash back out of it. Then I can get a hold of this guy.

I thought only 2.6 cars were Fire Arrows. Nonetheless, those 1.6 motors are indestructible, and porting and a cam make a huge difference.

Wow! That looks like quite a deal. I wish he had some pics of the cage, It might not be such a deal if the cage needs a complete redo.

I have seen this car multiple times at NER rallyx's over the years, it has passed through a few owners. Very unique and seems to often break at each event, but at that price, it's a good deal. I would think the cage needs a redo, but I have not looked at it recently.

Thread on SS regarding this car:

http://www.specialstage.com/forums/showthread.php?64938-RallySolo

the car was a street car until 1998(ish). It is a Fire Arrow, but originally had an automatic in it. The woman that owned it blew the engine and Mark Bowers picked it up, moved the engine and drivetrain (1.6L & 4 speed tranny) as well as the cage from a wrecked Dodge Colt into the shell and he and his son Duffy ran it for several years starting in 1999 or 2000.

Hmm... the statements made regarding the cage in that thread are not promising

I would assume it needs torn out completely and a new one put in. Anything less would just be a bonus.

In reply to EvanB:

Seller confirmed as much. That's OK, I may have a trade pending for the Mustang...

Big 01 on the door but on the roof instead of a Rebel Flag, a Rising Sun flag and the words General Ree.

Shhhh......that's my plan for the Lemons Celica. Although the 01 is in Kanji script.
