Kinda wish this was closer. Ok, really do but that's kinda why I don't. Get it? Anyway, my nephew lives in steamboat. Wondering if I should give him a call.
mark, if you're interested in a rallycross beater let me know, you're close enough that I can work on setting you up with something, and the price couldn't be any better.
I'm away from the forums for a week and ALL my dream projects have appeared!! I want an audi 5 so bad.
Buy a wrecked 5000 tq and have fun. I had an 87 that I got up to close to 250 bhp without a lot of work. Ben Swann is your friend here. Audi 5cyl as an absolute tank of a motor. Love 'em!!!
FWIW, I've spoken with factory guys from the late 80s and early 90s. The factory cars were getting up to 1000-1200 bhp for special events like pikes peak.

Unfortunately, from what I've read, Ben Swann is MIA. There was a friend of his that wanted to take over making the chips, but I haven't heard anything lately. Maybe something has changed in the last few months though.
Ben is a friend. He's had a rough couple of years. I can do my best to put him in touch with others. He's a bit of a guru at this.

That's what I've read, and I wish him all the best.
