Ah, yes, the '80s. When car manufacturers thought it was a good idea to design longer, lower, and HEAVIER "sporty cars" based on common as dirt sedans.
Supposedly, one of the engineers "associated" with the production of the EXP crowed about the fact that Ford saved quite a bit of money on the design of this car because it used the windsheild, doors, and most of the dashboard of the regular 2 door Escort. Do you suppose VW tried to save the same kind of money when designing a Scirroco?
But, actually, a pretty nice example of an EXP....not that there are a mountain of them to pick and choose from.
