Rock Auto shows the shocks for the 1.3 are available. I would be surprised (shocked?!) if they didn't fit the 1.0 model. Anything is possible though.

This was built in partnership w/ toyota, I think. Something about 40+mpg in a car that looks decent enough to be seen in speaks to me. And its light and cheap.
Daihatsu=Toyota, though I don't know how far down the line the partnership extended or how far back.
