pictures wouldn't hurt.......
So the question is - are there enough valuable parts to sell off to fund the drivetrain of choice and still be under $2013-14???
hmmm.. my son is 4. These are his favorite cars. Would make for a good father/son project... though I don't want to store it for 12 more years. lol

Why not? My dad gave me a 72 Beetle when I was six, and I've been taking it apart & putting it back together for 30 years :)

I don't see how. JDM engine+ trans right now are right at $1000 for the 2.0 turbo. Even if you sold off the maximum amount, you would have nothing left to actually make the thing fit in there and work. Unless you can convince the judges it just magically fell in and bolted up for free.

I'm going to call my dad and yell at him tonight. (A 10 year old car when I was 6? Figure a 1958.......
In reply to Datsun310Guy:
It was a 12 year old car at the time. He traded someone a green Chevy Citation for it

There are not enough valuable parts on it to make that happen. The only possibility would be if you could find someone to pay $2000 for the convertible top assembly (that's what PartsHeaven gets for them), but I can't imagine that happening. That's why I'm selling the whole shell instead of parting it out.
If that car were in Houston, I would be putting $2k in your hand tomorrow. Anybody going from Mass. to Houston with an empty trailer? :D
Somebody please buy it. My wife wants it gone & if its still here in two weeks, I'll have to take it to copart to be sold. Who thinks eBay would be better?
eBay will get it sold for certain, if you put no reserve. For a little extra safety, make the opening bid the LEAST you will take (keeping in mind the cut that eBay gets).
As with so many others here, I REALLY want to bring this home but any money I have is earmarked for something else and the wife would straight murder me for this. I already have a $300 bid in on a Volvo 960 that she doesn't know about...

The dead Boxster shares driveway dpace with a Volvo 960 I bought for $450. Great minds think alike, or we just have the same addiction.
PM sent sir. Disregard the "what salvage history does it have?" question, I just re-read the thread again.
