So I'm trying to help my sister-in-law sell her car. The price is not firm, and GRM discounts apply. The car is a super strong driver (has been my backup car, as it has been kept at my house), but has cosmetic issues. Great first car or spare.
Photos are coming. It's mostly green. It will be professionally cleaned, inside and out, before it is sold.

Help me price this thing.
Much like me, it's ugly on the inside and outside, but solid mechanically. I think she's going to post it on Craigslist for $1000. GRMers can get a decent discount from that.
that's about right. sweet ghost flames on the hood.

And those aren't dents... they are dimples, like on a golf ball. Better gas mileage.

If the A/C works and it passes emissions (no check engine light), that is a $2,000 car in Atlanta. It will run like crap....forever. Not sure about value in the land of snow and salt though. I'd say throw it on CL for $1,500 and take $1,000 after they "negotiate" you down.
I have a '96 Sunfire (same car at a Cavalier) that won't die. It is an automotive cockroach in more ways than one.

A/C is good and it passes. I wouldn't have thought about 2K based on comps on craigslist. Maybe she should aim "higher". Then again, she's looking for a fast sale (going away for grad school). It was a southern car for a good chunk of it's life, so it's pretty much rust free.
Think it will pass MD inspection? My sister is actually looking to replace her Cavalier that just blew a head gasket. I'll see what she thinks.

Should pass with no trouble. Where in MD is she? I'm in Odenton, but the car is in Silver Spring. We can make arrangements for her to check it out in either location.
Cumberland. Still use the AIM? I'll try to catch you online.

She's a got a couple locals looking at our stupidly high advertised price. I'll let you know how that pans out.

Stupid car buyers put me through college. Let them decide what is too high. For some reason people think if you value the car that much, it must be worth it.
