I bought this from EvanB here on the board about 3 years ago after hearing about how great SV650s are. All of the things you hear are true, what a great bike. I've enjoyed it a lot, but my work status and commute make it such that I rarely ride it, and I'm starting to clear out this, my 02 Miata, and 60 MGA to buy one very nice toy that I hope to use as much as the other 3 combined.

It's a great bike, not perfect, but in need of nothing, just in time for the season. $2000 for GRMers.

Well, it's a long story.

It's a 1960 MGA 1600, a wire wheel disc brake car. It was my first car, bought in 1994. Apparently, the previous owner was the drummer for Aerosmith. Anyway, over the first 5 or so years I had it, it had a body on restoration including rebuilds of all major mechanicals except the rear end, a very good quality (engine out, bare metal, fenders off with new welting) repaint over a very solid body, and an all new interior. The only real "upgrades" it has are a pertronix ignitor, poly bushings and an MGB front sway bar. When I was in college, it basically got put in mothballs in my mother's garage, where she proceeded to put a small dent or scratch in almost every panel from dropping stuff on it.

A few years ago after I bought my house, I got the car out of storage, refreshed it all (rebuilt cars, brake refresh, etc) and got it back on the road. It is a great driver quality car, not perfect but still impressive enough to bring to shows and be proud of. It starts right up even after sitting all winter, and drives very very well. It's not perfect, but basically needs nothing, a car that can be enjoyed. I have a few things to do to bring it up to selling shape (install wiper motor, put a few trim bits into the interior, new rear brake wheel cylinders).

I have some spares for it, including some 1.75" SUs with a nice intake manifold, another set of stock carbs, and a few other bits.
