My wife says, "Maybe in a deep maroon, otherwise it just looks like a lady with a big rear end".

She and I have kinda different tastes in cars! I think it is awesome!

That seems like a huge piece of gear for a 4.6 to pull around!

Maybe it's the color.

That's why I generally ignore the $20XX forum... too many cash-sucking temptations...

Compared to the original motor?

straight 8 = torque

4.6 = no torque.

original motor = winner

The straight eight 320ci engine made 140hp and 270 lbft of torque.

The '97 'Stang GT is rated at Horsepower 215 @ 4500 RPM Torque (lb-ft) 290 @ 3250 RPM

I'm sure the Buick made it's torque much lower in the RPM range though - peak HP for a '53 was at 3600rpm

Yeah, a '37 Straight 8 isn't going to be more powerful in any meaningful way than a 4.6 mod motor. I'm willing to bet that the 4.6 powered car is faster accelerating at all speeds and more fuel efficient and more reliable. Whether that's worth the non-original tradeoff is up to the vehicle's owner.

Well since its got a T-bird front suspension, it's probably got the tbird Mod motor, too. So the specs are going to be down from the 'Stangs. Too bad the rear isn't the t-birds, also.
