Trying to help a friend with a Tercel; he has 4 X 100 steelies which he wants to use for the winter, but looking for replacements as summer wheels. (ugly OK, cheap is good).

$200 for Honda wheels covered in weeds? $400 for crappy 3 series wheels?

When I bought the glider in Florida I had a heck of a time finding 13 inch tires.

Where do you go for inexpensive 13 inch 4 X 100 steelies?

Thanks.

Haven't looked into your question about 13" wheels yet, but AW11 MR2's are 14" 4 X 100. Might help.

I paid $35 at a swap meet for my slightly crusty VW teardrops with tires that I put 5k miles on. They're even mostly round. I traded a picnic table I got for free for a set of 15in Honda Civic SI wheels. I've turned down 2-3 sets of sub-$100 me-otter wheels.

You could always check junkyards, they seem to hang on to small and ugly stuff for awhile.

Poke Midknight. I sold him a set of vw 13x5 or 6, 4x100 wheels for like 25 or 35$ I'm not sure what he ever did with them. With the amount that he works, he may have them sitting in a shed, and I know I was at least the second GRM'r to have them.

Maybe a bigger issue is finding decent 13" tires.

BMW 320i had some nice 13" wheels. The 19 or whatever spoke version on the early models and the S versions had the mesh BBS. Both can be had for around $100 a set.

Why not get some 14" whatevers? The Tercel will work fine on a 185/60/14 tire and they're easy to find.

Hi. It's Midknight, lurking these days as 3duppiesandadog. I'm sure I have some Civic 13s in my shed. Shipping may not make them worthwhile to you though. VW wheels are on my Caddy project, which is about to go up for sale. Big car and parts sale coming.

13 inch wheels are easy. Tires are now unobtainium. You need to move to a bigger wheel.

They are 13" tires out there, but none are performance tires.

I know that Dodge used 4x100 13" wheels on the Omni/ Horizon and most of the K-cars throughout the 80's. You could make life a lot easier and move up the 15" wheels as the tire price and selection will be come much better.

I've always thought that Hoosier A6s were performance tires. As were Kumho 710s. Both are available in 13". Now, if he;s looking for street tires...

I am selling my 13" wheels and tires, BTW. 13x8.5". In correct bolt pattern. Would look really coon on a Tercel :)

BTW, here's a locally available set, he might separate wheels and tires: http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/pts/5174859795.html

It's been used by my competitor for several years so I know these particular set of wheels - they are in very good shape and pretty cheap for what they are.
