Hey guys, I've got one of my project cars on the chopping block trying to clear up driveway space for the new-to-us Sky. If anybody here is interested, GRM folks get the friends and family discount. Thanks for the space GRM!

Good thing it is 2000 miles away or I would have it. Except I am
broke also.
I'm not interested in the car, but love the house and yard! Wow.
Do you know what the plant is that is growing on an archway over the door? We've contemplated doing the same thing over our garage.

Wisteria?
I've been told Wisteria, but I wouldn't know the first thing about plant identification, Jessica does all of the gardening. The ivy stuff was there when we moved in, but she's planted tons of other flowers in the last year and it's very nice to look at this time of year. The ivy looks great this time of year, and by Halloween they help with the creepy theme because they're bare and accept fake spider webs well.
Funny, I've had as many people email/comment on that picture I posted as I have people actually interested in the car. I've never had craigslist people email me just to say they liked my pictures before this!

I don't think so. Wisteria looks more like clusters of grapes.
You should include this picture to show folks what potential this project holds! I think this is one of the coolest resto-mods ever done.
Ooohhhhh.................I love these. I wish you were a little closer.

You're right. Jessica said she thinks it's clematis. When we looked it up on wikipedia and she says it looks like clematis montana:

Not a bad idea! I agree, that car was my introduction to how cool a 122 can be. We're suckers for wagons, so the coupe and sedan never spoke to us like the wagon. We've still got one other 122 wagon that we're keeping with plans of an engine swap and details to make it a fun long distance cruiser.

Yea, if this was in Florida, it would be mine.

Sissy, your co-worker went to cali with a box of tools and drove a much more questionable Ranchero home.
Meanwhile, its time to work up my best puppy dog eyes and talk the wife into another crazy scheme

You can come on out for the west coast challenge and drive it back. Who wouldn't want to drive an old Volvo without AC through CA, AZ, NM, TX, LA, etc. in August?
It's still for sale guys. Lots of tire kickers coming by to check it out (as with every vehicle I put on craigslist) but nobody has brought it home yet. IPD has their annual swap meet/show/sale this weekend, and they happen to be about ten miles from my house. We'll be bringing this car out there on Saturday, with a for sale sign in the window of course. If anybody within a few hours of here likes Volvos, the IPD shindig should be worth the trip.

If you would take a gutted Metro with a Cadillac FWD V8 in the back seat (some assembly required) as partial trade....

Sold!
Oh, and to be clear, it wasn't in trade for a gutted Metro and a Caddy engine.
Bryce
Glad to hear it. I passed the word along to several of my Volvo buddies in the hopes that would help A) find a good home for the car, and B) make me less tempted to buy and it and end up with yet another project.
See out around!

Well, if you decide you DO want another project, just let me know. After selling this 122, we're down to "only" 7 vehicles, so there's plenty of project cars around still. I'm hoping to make that five vehicles by the end of the year, but I have a really short attention span so don't hold me to it.
I think it went to a good home, the guys seemed to have the right intentions and seemed like good guys in general. Of all the people that have come by, they seemed the best fit, so it makes sense that they actually dropped the cash instead of just kicking tires.

wonder if the Tunachuckers bought it.

No, sir! I saved this car and brought it back to life (when I got it, it was a "parts car"), I don't think I'd have the heart to let it go to LeMons duty. That's what rusty Achievas and banged up Imprezas are for.
Bryce
i wouldn't insult even Lemons by bringing an Achieva. oy.
shrug i see Amazon, i think Tunachuckers.

The Tunachuckers still soldier on with our original car, nearly ready for it;'s third Lemons event. We've only gone through two trannies and three motors... It still handles really well, has a fuel system and a cage - why part with it now?
