I saw one of those things converted into the most badass little hillclimb car. Always had a soft spot for the Manta.
GF way back when had one, same color, with a black vinyl roof. Always did like them... glad that one's too far away.
Looking at other examples of the same generation, it's amazing how bad the bumpers make it look.....
Is anyone close and able to check it out for me? I'm in Louisville, KY so it's quite the trek. I really like the look of it though.

I may have met the owner at Dragway 42 last year. Waiting in line at the concession stand, I noticed that the guy in front of me was wearing a shirt with a big Opel logo on it. He mentioned that he had a few Mantas.
Just goes to show that every time you buy a car something you want more pops up in the following weeks. I have been looking for one of these (off and on) for years.

Ain't that the truth.
I'd much rather the Opel, too
The contradiction on this car is that the body looks good but then under the hood, the engine looks like it was painted by Earl Schib
Should the radiator top be blue?
Should the shock tops be blue?
Is that blue overspray on the upper radiator hose?
^Yeah. The shoddy paint work seems to extend to the boot as well:
I'm wondering if the whole car was given a quick and dirty respray recently.
Certainly, caveat emptor. It's still way cool, though.
